Our Story

Maxwell Auto has been servicing Iowa City and the surrounding Iowa areas with automotive repair needs since opening up shop in 2005. Owner and founder Chris Maxwell has always had a passion for the industry, and has put in hard work and long hours into ensuring his business is a success. After a lot of 7-day work weeks and late nights, Chris and his team of expert technicians finally have years of experience in the automotive repair industry and are prepared to tackle the tasks you throw their way.

We are a dynamic organization driven by motivated and experienced employees, specializing in general maintenance, engine repair, electrical diagnostics, brakes, and various other essential components. As Volkswagen, Audi, and European model specialists, we service all of your needs from heating and air conditioning to drive train, brakes engine, alignment, and diagnostics. We also handle oil changes, transmissions, car inspections, used auto sales, and more for all makes and models.
